Drove close to 220 miles today, accomplishing little if anything until the last ten. That's the rough mile-marker of our doctors' office, where, despite not having my new insurance card yet, I was still seen and confirmed that my BP meds are WORKING YAYYYY!

Every stop before that today was underwhelming at best, and it looks like I'll be doubling back much of the way later in the week to take care of the missed things.

In case I get lost, at least, there's a new map to help me:

Can't say I get ALL of those, but enough.

Blah blah Super Bowl blah blah. I hate both of the teams which played, but the contest was quite compelling, from the bizarre penalty called on Brady's first play from scrimmage (resulting in the first Super Bowl safety since Bruce Smith sacked an earlier Giant quarterback in the Bills' first appearance 21 years ago) to the "let-the-Giants-score" ploy in the final minute.  Then there was the drama outside the game itself: Brady's supermodel wife caught on audio throwing her husband's receivers under the team bus; Giant quarterback Eli Manning literally running away from the announcer with the keys to his MVP prize Chevy (because Eli pimps Toyotas); and, of course, Madonna and her fine feathered fingered  friends.

Of greater local importance is that Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was injured at practice today when one of his players tripped on the ice and ran into him. Unofficial reports say he has several broken ribs, but all Coach would say is, "it's an upper body injury, I'm day to day." Meanwhile, further proving that the league hates us, head NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan assessed a two-game suspension against the coach for diving.

Tomorrow, just an ordinary go-to-court-here kinda day. I am SO looking forward to that; not the "go to court" part, but the "here" part:)

That map is... disturbing. Mozzarella sticks w/ raspberry sauce? Really?

Another word for "open-faced calzone" is "pizza," isn't it?

Not-ta exactly.

There's a local pizza place we utterly adore, which makes This Thing Of Ours called a "pod." It's shaped like a calzone, but has the crust consistency of a pizza. If you ever make it this way, we will ensure you experience Pod-dage (or, if you want to visit the actual Mafia-run traditional pizza joint, it's right across the street;)

I must admit, I'd never heard of that one either. But probably, 50-odd years ago, someone looked funny at Frank and Theresa Bellisimo and said, "Wings with blue cheese and celery? How weird is THAT?!?"

And should you ever make it this way, we'll find you some lobstah and chowdah!
