More or less in order of appearance, I:

* Got a case filed I've been trying to get the client to actually commit to filing for going on two years.

* Cleared massive amounts of crap from my desk prepatory to getting the newly purchased printer to go on line. Our official product tester gave it her seal of approval last night:

* Failed, at first, on getting said new printer to come on line with the rest of the hardware.  There's some glitch in my repaired Vista laptop that resists installation of new software, whether from CD or from downloaded file. Ultimately, I decided to install it on the desktop computer in Emily's room (which it installed on just fine), and then connected my laptop to the printer in hopes it would at least download the drivers to make it work with it wirelessly.  It did more than that; once connected (completely contrary to the instructions), it downloaded everything and now prints wirelessly from here to the printer in the next room. I'm keeping the new one in Emily's room and the old one in here for faxes (in and outbound), scanning and envelopes- at least until I've burned through the $65 of new ink I bought for the damn thing over the weekend.

* Brought three possibly final documents to Mortgage Broker, with hopes we might actually be cleared to close as soon as late next week.

* Arranged a partial fix for a broken shelf in our fridge that's been causing bottles to go bowling for years now. The local appliance parts place had replacement hinges for it in stock, for all of seven bucks. A replacement for the shelf itself costs over $30 and has to be ordered, but the hinges may solve the problem.

* Apparently caused great amusement to at least two afficionados of classical music due to my limited appreciation of such things.

* Bought full-capacity ink cartridges for the new printer once the thing appeared to be working. That also got me over to my office for the first and only time all day, where this DVD was waiting for me:

Looking forward to checking it out:)

The only downside was being unfriended by someone on account of a happy birthday wish. Maybe someday I'll understand these things.

None of my business, but is your refi via the HARP program, or is it just a standard refi?

How could you be so heartless and inconsiderate as to wish someone a happy birthday? That's it, I'm going to delete every message from you and burn my laptop. :-)

We're far too current on the current loan to qualify for any kind of modification, so this is "standard" FHA crap.

And Eleanor (who's still friends with the person in question) reports that it was just a coincidental flist-trimming and not anything directed at me or my wishes. So put that flaming hard drive out.
