"Boy, could she drink. She drank like a.... she drank a LOT."

We've had an aquarium in our living room since Emily was in elementary school. She won a goldfish at a carnival; we named him Fishyfish and he spawned, in time, close to a dozen store-bought descendants and a now-20-gallon tank. For the past several years, that real estate has been shared by just two fairly large pieces of Pisces: Momo, a goldish looking guy, and Othello, a somewhat newer and visually darker soul of similar bulkish size.

Earlier tonight, Momo's monthlong fight against Ick or Whatever came to an end, and he's now buried in the front garden near three of our dear departed cats.  He was big enough at the end for me to consider placing sides of fries and cole slaw along with him.  And yes, we will be going to PetSomething soon to find a new tankmate for Othello who, we hope, will not meet a delicious fin in the clutches of his fins.

Also earlier tonight, I finished #18 on my Books Read list for the year, and [livejournal.com profile] ayrshire_of_elm was good enough to remind me what I already had on hand for Hey Nineteen.

Her sister, our equally dear friend [livejournal.com profile] digitalemur, had duly gifted her with a copy of Lois McMaster Bujold's Cryoburn (which was #25 on my last year's list, which I didn't get to until October), and both her copy from Sarah and mine came with a CD full of the Miles Vorkosigan backstory, including all of her prior novels in the series.  And so, now duly transferred in .epub format to the phone and with Stanza humming along swimmingly- sorry, Momo:( - I'm now beginning at the beginning, with The Warrior's Apprentice, which, best as I can tell, is the Very Good Place To Start.

If this is the wrong place, I assume someone will tell me. Otherwise, I plan on catching as much as I can possibly school myself in:)
