* Emily got a reminder letter from college today about her unpaid admissions deposit and it preventing her from registering for classes. We'd be more worried if this had come from RIT, but it was from CCAD, the other main contendah from this past year's admissions process which she is not going to. I've asked her to call on Monday and re-give them the bad news that she's not coming.
* An even stranger entry into the Mucked-Up Mailing List Derby was this one, which showed up a few days ago in a very impressive looking envelope with a letterhead saying it was from a bunch of (mostly) dead former U.S. presidents:

Hmmmm. Taking my son to see "people and places available only to Student Ambassadors," and "activities designed to stretch students outside their comfort zone." Are you sure this is coming from the White House and not the Vatican?
Never mind how weird it is that they sent this to a parent of the completely wrong aged and gendered student. Even if I did have an eligible son, I think I'd be pretty spooked out by the whole business.
* Also likely missing, this time tomorrow, will be Sherlock. My site for such things has devolved into a "this domain for sale!" parking page. Pity; the second installment was most excellent and they left enough loose ends from its story to make me really want to see where #3 goes.
