In 1493, Columbus sailed the deep blue sea

That quote was used, as was the more widely-known and correct one, in an episode of a television show that debuted in the mid-1960s, back when Indigenous Peoples Oppression Columbus Day was always observed on this day. (Free internet cookie to anyone who can identify both the show and the characters who argued about which was right.)

Another famous debut in the mid-1960s, on this very day in fact, was of a woman who grew up into one of the best of Friends one can have here.

From her family stories, to her always amazing photos, to her music collection, there's not just something for everyone there, but an awful lot I find touching.

So whichever year his quest began,
My happiest birthday wish to Nan:)

oh, and "Lost in Space".
I completely LOVED that show and still have visuals and phrases from it stuck in my head to this day. I think there is something about shows you watch in your early formative years, even if you do not recognize it at the time. So beware showing young children really bad TV.. they will haunt you with it for life ;-)
