I saw one repost of this "story" this morning on my Facebook timeline. One was enough to boil my blood.

Apparently, somebody took to Twitter the other day and said something mean about 50 Cent. (For my fellow AARP-aged members, that's a "he," and a famed rap artist.) Fitty tweeted this back in response:

Really? No, the first reaction really was "really?"  Could this have been an iFail, where he meant to say "fantastic" and it got autocorrected? Moments later, that was disproven:

It resulted in some retweeting and some disturbance along the Spectrum. While he ultimately took down the offending tweet, this was all he did to apologize for it- to say, basically, that he did it for the lulz:

Ha ha, dude. And some of my best friends are insensitive thugs, so that makes it okay for me to call YOU out on being one.

Yet so far, there seems to be no outrage about this in the media beyond a few blogs.  And I doubt there will be. Because he's a rapper- and rappers have a long history of getting away with dropping N-bombs, encouraging misogyny, glorifying violence and gang lifestyles, and then bullying the victims of such violence with threats of "Snitches Get Stitches."

That doesn't mean I can't be pissed off about it, though. No matter how un-politically correct it is for me to do.
