I am somehow reminded of a president of Harvard who, unlike others, did not have a dormitory (called "houses" at Harvard) named in his honor. His name was Leonard Hoar. However, it was not his surname that was objectionable. In his tenure as president all students but 3 left the college, and he was forced to resign.
