To the dozen-plus gay couples who presented themselves at Buffalo City Hall today to seek the earliest possible blessing of their love, some of whom left empty-hearted because there weren't enough notaries present to verify the petitions to waive the 24-hour waiting period? Dayum.  I would've dropped everything, including my own church appearance, and come downtown to notarize your documents had I known it was needed. Long as you presented proper ID, of course.

And to the 250 homophobic morons who came out ::koff koff Marcus Bachmann koff:: on a brutally sunny Sunday to protest these secular solemnizations of their newly affirmed civil rights, particularly the protesters who are arguing that there are polygamists in Utah who will be next to claim the right to marry? STFU.

Utah had to agree to ban polygamy in its own state constitution as a condition of its admission to the Union. Not happening. Not equivalent. Go buy a fire pit, set a fire in it, and then die in it.

To everyone else who will remember this day with love and acceptance? Join me next year, and every year after, in wishing you a Happy Anniversary:)

I love the story of the first couple married in NYC - who'd been living together for 23+ years, and finally got to make it official in the eyes of the state. So cute.

Here in Mass we've had marriage rights for years, and I'm still waiting for my new hot gay husband to be issued. I'm beginning to wonder if everyone who says marriage rights undermines "traditional marriage" are lying?
